COVID-19 and The A.C. Nielsen Summit

We have decided to postpone the 2020 A.C. Nielsen Alumni & Friends Summit due to the COVID pandemic. We made his difficult decision after consulting our alumni, our external advisory board, and the Wisconsin School of Business. The safety and health of our alumni and industry partners eclipsed our desire to host the Summit as scheduled.

Offering the Summit in a virtual format would not have met our primary event goal of fostering alumni engagement and lifelong learning—which are best accomplished in person. We hope to host the Summit in Fall 2021.

Though we are disappointed, we do believe postponing the event is the right thing to do. Our matching donor has generously extended the matching fundraising campaign until the next Summit

We are discussing creative and innovative ways to connect our alumni, external advisory board, and industry friends with our students to support the exceptional engagement fostered by the summit. As those opportunities evolve, we will certainly keep you informed.

Why are you postponing the Summit?

We discussed the possibility of hosting the Summit in October 2020, as originally planned, with our alumni, our external advisory board, and the School. After careful consideration we determined that it was in the best interest of our alumni, industry friends, advisory board and students to postpone the Summit until we can hold an event with less uncertainty and risk.

Why not just move the Summit to a virtual event?

We discussed the option of simply moving our current Summit plans to being an online event. The primary goal of the Summit is to foster alumni and industry engagement. This goal is best accomplished in person. We determined that the best possible option was to postpone the Summit. We are still exploring other options to engage our alumni, advisory board, industry partners and students this fall. We will communicate these opportunities as they evolve.

When will the next Summit be?

We hope to host the next Summit in Fall 2021. We are currently working on making these plans and will keep you updated via email and this site.

How do I cancel my registration?

All registrations will be cancelled and refunded automatically. You will not need to take any steps to complete this.

Will the alumni in the Class of 2020 & Class of 2019 still get their first Summit complentary?


I'm interested at speaking at the next Summit, do I have to wait until the new date is announced to fill out a proposal?

No. You are welcome to fill out a proposal at any time. Please know that our communication may be delayed as we work to modify the elements effected by the postponement.

Will the Summit theme change?

We do not have plans at this time to alter the Summit theme.
